1. General

MyResque is a service that allows clients to make requests for scene-of-accident assistance when their insured motor vehicle is involved in an accident. The service provides a guided process of submitting a request to make it easier for the rescue service providers to determine the right kind of assistance depending on the impact of the accident. The information submitted by the client is augmented with location details from the client mobile’s location services to find nearest rescue service providers and enable the assigned rescue provider to accurately locate the scene of accident.

MyResque is a service that allows clients to make requests for scene-of-accident or scene-of-incident assistance when their motor vehicle is involved in an accident or motoring incident (non-accident related). The service provides a guided process of submitting a request to make it easier for the rescue service providers to determine the right kind of assistance depending on the nature of accident or motoring incident. The information submitted by the client is augmented with location details from the client mobile’s location services to find nearest rescue service providers and enable the assigned rescue provider to accurately locate the scene of accident or motoring incident.

In most cases, MyResque is offered in partnership with insurance companies, who are interested parties with regard to accident-related information. In some instances, insured information (that forms part of the customer’s data) is provided directly by the respective insurance companies, e.g. benefits entitlement.

2. Scope of this privacy policy

This Privacy policy covers the following applications which constitute the technology solutions that enable MyResque Service:

  • MyResque Customer App: The application used by clients to request for rescue services when they get into an accident or motoring incident.
  • MyResque Service Provider App: The application used by service providers who provide various services to MyResque customers.
  • MyResque Service Provider portal: The web platform used by service providers to perform various administrative functions such as managing their internal users and assets (vehicles) used to render Myresque services, view reports for Myresque incident requests they have responded to and the associated billing information.
  • MyResque Back-office platform: The back-office platform used by MyResque back-office teams to perform various administrative functions such as ordering services on behalf of MyResque customers (based on support request received), on-boarding service providers, and generation of management information reports.
  • MyResque Insurance portal: The web platform used by insurance companies to perform various administrative functions such as managing their insureds using Myresque services, manage their internal users, view reports for Myresque incident requests for their insureds.

3. Your Rights

You have a right:
  1. To know the use of which we may put your personal data.
  2. To know data submitted to us by your respective insurance company.
  3. To access your personal data in our possession.
  4. To object to our processing of all or any part of your data.
  5. To the correction or deletion of any erroneous, false or misleading data.
  6. To withdraw your consent to the processing or use of your personal data at any time.
  7. To know, and to object, data shared with your respective insurance company in the event of accessing MyResque services in an accident situation.
  8. In case you have a concern regarding how your data is being managed, you have the right to request us to suspend or deactivate your profile.

4. Information that we collect

We may collect different types of information from users of MyResque and store it in the mobile apps as well as on our servers. The information we collect is as outlined below:

4.1 MyResque Customer App

  • Profile data provided by you when you download and sign up to MyResque such as name, mobile number, email address, National ID Number, tax identification number e.g. KRA PIN Number, your photograph when you add a personal profile photo.
  • Vehicle registration number when you are requesting for rescue service.
  • Your location when you are requesting for rescue service

  • Photographs of vehicle when requesting for rescue service.

4.2 MyResque Service Provider App

  • Your location from your mobile location services.
  • Your mobile phone number

4.3 MyResque Service Provider Portal

  • Profile data provided by you when you sign up to MyResque such as name, mobile number, driving license number, email address, National ID number, tax identification number e.g. KRA PIN number, your photograph, company number, company landline telephone number, company mailing address and area covered by your business operation.
  • Your vehicle details including: registration number, vehicle make and model, year of manufacture, vehicle insurance details (policy start/end date and insurer).

4.4 MyResque Back-office Platform

  • Service provider data provided by you when you are on-boarded including name, mobile number, driving license number, email address, National ID Number, tax identification number e.g. KRA PIN Number, your photograph, company number, company landline telephone number, company mailing address, area covered by your business operation.
  • Your vehicle details including: registration number, vehicle make and model, year of manufacture, vehicle insurance details (policy start/end date and insurer).

4.5 MyResque Insurance Portal

  • Profile data for users with access accounts such as name, mobile number, email address, National ID Number, tax identification number e.g. KRA PIN Number and your photograph when you add a personal profile photo.

5. How do we use your personal data

We use your data for the following purposes:

  1. To manage and maintain your profile.
  2. To contact you. We use your contact information to send you notifications regarding your.transactions as well as inform you about new products and features.
  3. To establish the rescue service providers located near the scene of the accident.
  4. To connect you to the rescue service providers located nearest to you.
  5. We share your details with rescue service providers when you make a request for rescue service once you have been involved in accident or motoring incident. The information shared with service providers includes your name, your vehicle registration number, your location, your vehicle insurance policy details and photos that you take of the accident scene.
  6. We show MyResque customers which service providers are near their scene of accident and once a service provider has been assigned a rescue task, that service provider’s details including their current location, name, profile photo and vehicle details are visible to the client.
  7. For accident-related situations, we share the details outlined in (v) above also with your insurance company.
  8. To comply with contracts or agreements we may enter into to provide this service.

By using MyResque applications, you acknowledge and explicitly agree that we may store, transmit and share your data with 3rd parties for the following purposes:

  • MyResque Customer details:
  • We may share your details with 3rd parties for the purpose of getting your rescue a service fulfilled as well as with your respective insurance company (for accident-related situations) for purposes of processing your insurance claim. By agreeing to share your data with your insurance company, you further acknowledge that your insurance company may further share the data with other service providers such as insurance assessors, loss adjustors, investigators, their lawyers/advocates, and law enforcement agencies as part of their normal claims processes.

  • Service Provider Details:
  • We share your location details with MyResque customers for purposes of requesting for rescue services as well as notifying them of progress in fulfilling their rescue requests. Your details are also shared with insurance companies for their claim processes. By agreeing to share your data with insurance companies, you further acknowledge that the insurance companies may further share the data with other service providers such as insurance assessors, loss adjustors, investigators, their lawyers/advocates, and law enforcement agencies as part of their normal claims processes.

6. Security

Innovex Solutions shall take suitable operational and technical measures to guard against unauthorized access or loss of the data collected through MyResque Customer App. The following are some of the measures in place:

  1. Access to the system will be by way of a username and password.
  2. Users accounts will be assigned different access privileges in the system to ensure that users are only able to access the functionalities    and data authorized to them.
  3. The system uses secure communication channels between the client devices and the system servers by way of data encryption and security certificates.
  4. Regular data backups are taken to ensure recovery in the event of a system or infrastructure failure.

While Innovex Solutions will take reasonable measures to safeguard your Personal Data, it cannot be held liable for any damages, whether direct or indirect that may result from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse of your Personal Data.

7. Disclosure to third parties

Other than stated in this Privacy Policy, Innovex Solutions shall not disclose your Personal Data to Third Parties without obtaining your prior explicit consent unless this is necessary for purposes set out in this Privacy Policy or unless required to do so by law. We may also share your Personal Data with other third parties who work with us to improve and commercialize our product offerings; such service providers are not authorized to disclose your Personal Data except as strictly necessary to perform any service under our supervision or to comply with applicable laws. We shall endeavour to provide such third parties with only the Personal Data they need to perform their specific obligations to us. Such Third Parties shall be obliged to treat your Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

8. Data retention and deletion

We may retain information regarding you and your use of MyResque App including your Personal Data for as long as reasonably needed to provide you with the services described in this Privacy Policy. Note that we retain your Personal Data even if you temporarily stop using the App or even uninstall it from your mobile device, unless you explicitly request us to delete your data by cancelling your account, upon which we shall delete your profile data while retaining your other data in anonymized form. In the event that you cancel your account, our obligation shall stop at the data we keep in our systems and it is possible that Third Parties with some of your Personal Data will continue keeping it.

9. How to access your personal data

All your personal data will be available in your profile which you can access in the system. In case of an error, you may request us to rectify the error by contacting is through email.

10. Updates or changes to our privacy policy

Occasionally we may need to amend the provisions of this Privacy Policy. You acknowledge that whenever we need to amend the Privacy Policy, we shall notify you of the amendments through the mobile app and present the amended Privacy Policy on the mobile app or our website for your acceptance.
